About the company
Carré Curieux, Cirque Vivant! is a leading company in the Belgian contemporary circus landscape.
The company was founded in 2007 by 4 young artists (Luca Aeschlimann, Vladimir Couprie, Gert De Cooman, Kenzo Tokuoka) ; ordinary guys from different backgrounds, all four graduated from the “École Supérieure des Arts du Cirque” (E.S.A.C) in Brussels.
Today they enjoy international recognition and perform both within Europe and beyond (Canada, China, Russia, Japan, Korea, La Réunion…).
About the performance
Connexio is a performance by Vlad, one of the artists of Carré Curieux, in collaboration with his dog, Alba. The performances consist of ‘fairy-tale illusions and unusual appearances, while attaching importance to a certain simplicity, to the proximity of the audience … and always trying to give a touch of irony’.
The art of a man-dog relationship through the prism of the creative circus.
In Connexio, Vladimir Couprie, the excellent diabolist, has a wolf friend as his accomplice. On a wooden track they experience the old practice of “dressage” virtuoso.
By limiting their play to the essential, their relationship reveals a disturbing humanity. Pure moments of sensitivity and love, a gripping game. More than a true story, a live story!
