Studio Eclipse is a Flemish circus company, founded in 2010, that creates movement-based performances in unique locations, both inside and outside the theater. Their work is strongly influenced by the environment and combines various disciplines to offer a distinctive artistic experience. Studio Eclipse presents innovative, visual, and physical performances both nationally and internationally, appearing at art, dance, circus, and street theater festivals in Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia, and South Korea.
Their work balances on the boundary between circus and dance, often under extreme conditions. For instance, circus artists performed Two Sink, Three Float in open waters of at least 12°C, and techniques like Aerial Contra Weight and Aerial Bungee were transformed into dance-like, theatrical performances in Fallen Thoughts. Additionally, Studio Eclipse creates more intimate productions such as Trapped Inside and Veni Vidi Venus.
The company has received funding from the Flemish government (circus decree) for productions including Two Sink, Three Float (2010), Fallen Thoughts (2012), Trapped Inside (2014-2015), and the upcoming creation Labo van de tederheid (2025)
