About the performance

KINTSUGI is a poetic clowning performance about loss, grief and comfort.
A journey from hope to despair, to grief to anger, to the realisation that losing someone never leaves you,
and that that’s okay.
With a subtle, disarming and visual approach, it shapes a theme that connects us all.

There is a man.
There is a door.
There is hope.

The man waits. And waits.
Together we wait.

He does his best to play away the emptiness,
but it becomes increasingly clear how this is all going to end….

In KINTSUGI, hardly any words are spoken – and they don’t have to be. The image prevails, humour breaks the tension, and comfort lurks around the corner.

*This TRY-OUT offers a glimpse into the creation process and gives the artist space to present and test work-in-progress in front of an audience.”
