About this project

The concept for this research lab interweaves circus arts with a urban setting: a traffic light and zebra crossing will be reproduced real scale in the studio. Synchronised with the colour changes of a traffic light, circus performers will experiment with their acts.

Key concepts such as ‘speed dramaturgy’ and ‘viewer experience’ will dissect the codes of such micro-performances and explore the question of how they are made and perceived. This intriguing and experimental framework forms the basis of the research into how movement and theatricality can be reinterpreted.
