About the performance

The world of the Bestiaria…

Inside a circular, translucent installation, surrounded by the audience, Ana Lekše creates a dreamlike 360° experience where aerial acrobatics, hair hanging, and shadow theatre come together. The performance is inspired by medieval bestiaries: books in which real and mythical creatures appear side by side, often interwoven with fables and stories of good and evil. We follow a young girl on her journey into a wondrous world where fantastic creatures emerge. They are neither simply friends nor enemies, but reflections of her own fears, desires, and instincts.

The translucent structure becomes a living canvas that constantly transforms: at times a boundary, at times a passageway; sometimes reality, sometimes illusion. Silhouettes appear, disappear, and take on new forms. Thus, an in-between world emerges, where our imagination fills in what we can only partially see.
