About the performance

Laboratory of Tenderness is a contemporary movement/circus performance that explores the boundaries of audience participation. The spectator literally becomes the “object being manipulated” in the hands of the performers.

It is a visual and sensory experience that takes the audience through new, abstracted rituals that emanate tenderness.

We work with fabric, exploring a hybrid form of immersive theatre and circus. In Laboratory of Tenderness, spectators undergo rituals that simulate a life cycle. The body is wrapped, carried, cradled, manipulated, and more. But that is only part of the experience: words are whispered, scents trigger the synapses, vision is sometimes taken away and at other moments intensely stimulated. Taste is playfully deceived through visual suggestion and non-associative scents.
