About the performance

A choir that doesn’t show up, a theater technician, a bicycle salesman … 

Today is the day. The Drongen jubilee choir is finally coming to perform! The audience is ready and eager. But then: silence. Not a tuning fork to be heard. No trace of the choir. The stage technician tries to steal the show, but his walkie-talkie keeps barking him back into the backstage. 

A bicycle saleswoman looking for an audience rolls onto the stage. She is perfectly prepared: the flyers plastered, smile practiced, bell polished, and sales text rehearsed. With such a large audience surely, she must get her bike sold today? 

What follows is a delightful, chaotic dance of miscommunication and awkwardness, in which two completely different characters discover each other, and the bicycle takes on a central role. The handlebars live their own

life the pedals refuse service, and it seems as if the bike would rather play than ride. 

‘Organiek Mechaniek’ is an almost wordless slapstick performance full of acrobatics, music, circus bikes and friendship in the making. What begins as pure chaos grows into a wondrous encounter where mechanics suddenly becomes music, and everything that was stuck finally starts moving. 

Come… and see how everything goes wrong – and yet turns out right.
