About the performance
Six acrobats between the ages of 58 and 70 present a physical, moving, and hopeful circus and dance performance about the resilience of our bodies. About seeing and being seen about the boundary between classical and contemporary circus. Circus history archived in the body.
Old age/aging is still a taboo subject in our society, and certainly within the circus world. Just like elite athletes, most acrobats stop intensive training after a certain age. How do those most perfect bodies transform? Can a person ever make peace with their own body? Can one be completely in harmony? ‘GLORIOUS BODIES’ sheds light on the process of aging in a unique way. Something that happens to all of us, right now, at this very moment.
The performance is rooted in partner acrobatics and movement. It breaks through clichés surrounding the older generation. An impressive, charming, and humorous performance that demonstrates what humans and the human body are capable of, and there is clearly no age limit to that.
With admiration and slight emotion, we witnessed that they can still do it.Lees de volledige recensie
