About the performance

60 degrees of separation is an invitation to be carried away by the joy of collectivity. Guided by the driving sound of a drummer, two circus performers take you on a journey exploring the intimacy of circus movements. Suspended in the air by one arm, the acrobats alternately hold each other’s free hand and reach out for yours. Thanks to you, their impressive tricks can come to life.

6 degrees of separation is the name of the theory that says you are at most 6 handshakes away from every other person in the world.

60 degrees is the angle required to lift someone off the ground – while pulling on one hand, when hanging in the aerial strap with the other.

60 degrees of separation is the combination of both.

Camille Paycha sets up a collective experience around the following questions: at what point does concern shift from intimacy to the violence inherent in the extreme physical acts of a circus technique?

When does a technical movement become intimate? With this project, Camille literally and figuratively transforms the verticality of her aerial discipline into a more collective and transversal way of interacting with her environment.
